Help For Heroes Charity Bike Ride
Many of our customers will know Paul Gilby as one of our senior consultants and as a company Director. Most won't know that in a former life Paul served for 6 years in the Commando's including tours in Iraq. As such, the charity 'Help for Heroes' is close to Paul's heart and on Saturday 18th June 2011 Paul and a group of friends completed a 176 mile cycle from Bolsover Castle to Buckingham Palace to race money for the charity.
The pace was a little slower than expected with the band of brothers finally finishing in 14 hours 35 minutes, but as Paul said 'in the spirit of the challenge we had the best of British weather that included thunder, hail, high winds and 8 hours of rain which slowed us down a bit. Oh, and we did stop for lunch!'
Paul, Wayne, Alex, Steve and Simon have raised over 700 GBP for the Help For Heroes charity so far. Help For Heroes provides practical support to service men and woman wounded in the line of duty.
