Make the '10:10 Carbon Reduction Pledge'
First Order Red has recently become a 10:10 business. Basically 10:10 is a climate change campaign with the aim of getting individuals, companies and institutions to reduce their carbon emissions by 10% during 2010. By signing up to 10:10 scheme we have committed ourselves to doing just that. This is a national scheme and has also been taken into account by the government.
When we first came across the idea of joining 10:10 we were unsure about what we were signing up to. Although after reading the information within the website the business decided it was a good idea. Our aim is not only to cut our own carbon emissions by 10% but to encourage others to do the same.
So why don't you think about joining us and the many other businesses to help Britain too? If you're not part of a business or organization then why not sign up as an individual, you will still be helping towards achieving the 10:10 pledge. Signing up to 10:10 was quick and easy. After completing this stage there is a link to the carbon trust website that provides more information and allows you to create an action plan on how you will be achieving this. This step is only optional but our business felt it would help a lot.
The new UK coalition government recently affirmed its support for the 10:10 carbon reduction initiative. Eugenie Harvey, campaign director of 10:10, said: "This is the first announcement the coalition has made, and the inclusion of their 10:10 commitment bodes well for the importance they'll place on carbon reduction this term. We're glad to see they're walking the walk".
